KMC starts to demolish illicit structures; 25 percent of parking problem to be solved
KATHMANDU, AUGUST 24 : The Kathmandu Metropolitan Office has unleashed a drive to demolish illicit structures in the capital beginning today. It did so after the related parties ignored a 35-day notice issued by it to remove such structures built without the required permission.
A team of the KMC constituting its mayor Balen Shah demolished the structures built illegally by the Kathmandu Mall situated in Sundhara by using dozers. Similarly, it bulldozed the erections made by Arabi Complex on New Road.
Earlier, the KMC had pulled down the shops opened illicitly at the site in New Baneshwor proposed for vehicle parking. According to the KMC, after completing its drive to demolish illicit structures in the capital, 25 percent of the vexing problem of parking will be solved.
