NEA's net prfit down by Rs 700 million
KATHMANDU, AUGUST 8: The net profit of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has gone down by 700 million in the last fiscal year. In 2022/23, such profit was just Rs 12.67 billion, while the same in the previous fiscal year 2021/22 had been recorded at 13.37 billion.
The gross income of the Authority, however, increased by Rs 12 billion in the last fiscal year when the very income was Rs 100 billion. The NEA earned Rs 81.78 billion by selling electricity domestically and Rs 10.51 billion by exporting the very commodity to India in the last fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, the gross income had mounted to Rs 88.13 billion.
Even though the NEA's gross income increased in the last fiscal year, the net profit went down due to a rise in regular expenses.
