KMC residents can now pay taxes via Khalti

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 13 : Khalti, an online payment service provider company, has come up with a facility to facilitate the residents of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to pay their taxes from home.“ With it, they will be able to easily pay the taxes of  land, house, rent, vehicle and business tax through the mobile wallet of Khalti,” states a press release issued by the company.

 

Speaking further about the new service, Binay Khadka, Chief Executive Officer of Khalti,  reportedly said, "We are confident that it will be easier for the residents of the area to pay their taxes and service charges online at the local level. We also hope that it will be easier and safer to use the service at home during the current Covid-19 epidemic.”

 

According to him, the taxpayers will be able to pay by choosing 'Khalti' according to the method given below:

  • Before availing this facility, the taxpayer has to go to https://eservice.kathmandu.gov.np  and fill in all the required details and register his name in the taxpayer portal.
  • Once registered, users can log in by entering their username and password.
  • Taxpayer details will be received after logging in to the taxpayer portal.
  • Tax assessment will be done by choosing the tax to pay.
  • If all the details are correct, they will be able to complete the process by selecting the pocket in the payment options.
