Tourist guides, hotel entrepreneurs taking tourists inside Bouddhanath area without ticket to face action

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 8 : Action would be taken against those tourist guides and hotel entrepreneurs involved in assisting the foreign tourists enter inside the Bouddhanath area without tickets. The Bouddhanath Area Development Committee has issued such a warning. Executive Director of the Committee, Nayan Kumar Lama, told RSS that a list of the hotels located from Chuchchepati to Jorpati will be prepared in the first phase before penalising the wrongdoers.  

 According to the Committee, some foreign tourists are visiting the Bouddhanath area especially in the morning without tickets. And, they are helped to do so by those hotels in which they stayed the other night.

. The Committee has determined Rs 100 per person as the entry fee for tourists from SAARC countries and Rs 400 per person for visitors from other countries except for SAARC. Thousands of tourists visit the Bouddhanath area every month.
