Govt. to form recommendation committee on public enterprises
KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 18 : The government has assigned Joint Secretary Kali Prasad Parajuli of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development as the Chairman of the Kalimati Fruits and Vegetables Market Development Board. This was shared today by Minister for Information and Communications Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki while talking about the decisions made by the cabinet meeting held on September 16.
According to him, the cabinet also approved to recall of a bill formed to amend and integrate laws relating to electricity from the Federal Parliament. Likewise, it gave a green signal to the approach paper on the Public Enterprises Recommendation Committee, 2079 BS, and form a Recommendation Committee on public enterprises. Likewise, the government decided to table a bill in the Federal Parliament regarding the provisions for the legislation.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers also approved the participation of the Inspector General of Nepal Police for the 90th general assembly of Interpol to be held in New Delhi of India from October 18-21. Furthermore, the government has appointed Sudarshan Kharbar of Palhinandan Rural Municipality-2 in Nawalparasi Paschim as a member of the National Land Commission while Som Bahadur Nepali of Pokhara was appointed as an expert member of the Kaski District Committee of the Commission.
As Minister Karki told the journalists, a decision was also made not to acquire 126.46 bighas of land that was given approval from the Council of Ministers to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for acquisition for Biratnagar airport some two years ago. Likewise, the cabinet meeting approved the participation of the Secretary at the Ministry of Science and Technology to take part in the science and technology-related meeting to be held in Geneva of Switzerland from October 25-26.
