NADA EV Expo, 2022  kicks off

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 22 : NADA EV Expo, 2022 has kicked off today at Bhrikutimandap in the capital. It is for the first time that an exhibition is being held on electric vehicles and the related components and ancillary in the country.

The four-day expo features a total of 51 stalls. Of them, 9 belongs to four-wheeler brands, 16 to two-wheeler brands, and one to three-wheeler brand.  Similarly, three tire brands, two battery brands, nine companies of garage equipment, components, and auto magazines along with four financial institutions have participated in it.

 

Organized by the Nepal Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA), the expo is title sponsored by  CEAT and co-sponsored by Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd. USAID Clean Air has joined in as the Knowledge Partner and Khalti is associated as Digital Payment Partner.  The Expo is managed by Global Exposition & Management Services (GEMS). 

 Inaugurating the expo, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said,” The holding of this kind of fair will go a long way in promoting electric vehicles in the country.  He added that the government is determined to promulgate policies to gradually substitute fuel-run vehicles with electric ones.

 

Similarly, Dhruva Thapa, President of NADA, remarked that his association came up with the idea of holding this expo realizing the need for electric vehicles in a country like Nepal. “Not only the level of pollution but also the consumption of petroleum products will substantially decline with the use of such vehicles. This is imperative to realize the dream of “Green Nepal.”
