Lalita Niwas Scam: Two more arrested
KATHMANDU, JULY 10: The police yesterday arrested two more individuals on the charge of their involvement in the illicit grab of government lands of Lalita Niwas. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police Dinesh Acharya said the arrested ones are the then Chief of Samarjung Company, Lok Hari Ghimire, and Survey Officer Dhruba Aryal.
Ghimire is accused of showing reluctance to protect the government's lands while Aryal was then deployed in the survey of the land plots there. Earlier, arrest warrants were issued in their names.

Prior to this, CIB had held Min Bahadur Gurung, 69, owner of the Bhatbhateni Super Market, Dharma Prasad Gautam, 80, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7, Gopal Karki, 70, of Chandragiri Municipality-3 and Sudhir Shah, 68, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4 on the charge of their involvement in the forgery of government documents intending to transfer the public lands at Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar in the names of private individuals. The CIB has said investigations are underway and they will be concluded soon.
