NCC urges for Japanese investment in Nepal

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 25: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has appealed to the visiting Members of Parliament (MPs) from Japan to consider bringing increased investment from Japan to Nepal. Among the visitors are members from the Upper House of the Japanese Parliament and representatives of the Nepal-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, namely Kobayashi Kazuhiro and Nagai Manbu.

During a meeting held yesterday in the capital , NCC delegates engaged with the Japanese MPs, urging them to take steps to boost Japanese investment in Nepal. They highlighted the longstanding historical ties between Nepal and Japan in both diplomatic and economic spheres.

Rajendra Malla, the Chairman of NCC, stressed the importance of enhancing the mutual cooperation between Nepal and Japan by fostering greater investment and business collaboration. Malla specifically requested the Japanese MPs to help facilitate an environment conducive to more investment in sectors like hydropower, infrastructure, tourism, and technology in Nepal.

He emphasized that technology transfer, particularly in the field of agriculture, could greatly benefit Nepal's development. The NCC's outreach aimed to tap into the potential for increased Japanese investment, emphasizing the positive impact it could have on Nepal's economic growth and technological advancement.
