"Bagmati River Festival" tomorrow
KATHMANDU, AUGUST 25: In an effort to effectively carry out the Bamgati River conservation campaign, the Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) is organizing the ' Bagnati River Festival' tomorrow. Collaborating on this initiative are the Nepal River Conservation Organization and Friends Club.
Vice Chairman of NARA, Shishir Khanal, mentioned that the event aims to draw attention to the significance, preservation, and promotion of the Bagmati River civilization, while also boosting rafting and water tourism in the Kathmandu Valley.
The festival is scheduled to commence at 7:00 am on Saturday, starting from the Bagmati bridge at Kupandole in Lalitpur. The event will include rafting activities involving 15 boats. The Bagmati river holds social and religious significance within the Kathmandu Valley, making it a focal point for conservation efforts.
By organizing the 'River Festival and Mahajalyatra', these organizations intend to shed light on the importance of preserving the river's cultural heritage and promoting sustainable tourism and recreational activities in the area.
