Chhurpi being exported to US
GALYANG(SYANGJA), AUGUST 27:Akala Namuna Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperatives, situated in Waling Municipality-8 of Syangja, has commenced the export of Chhurpi, a hardened cheese product, to the United States.
Churpi, known for its durability and distinct taste, is priced at Rs 1,000 to 1,100 per kilogram. The cooperative's Chairperson, Punya Prasad Aryal, confirmed that their Churpi is being exported to the US.
The dairy operated by the cooperative collects approximately 800 to 1,100 liters of milk on a daily basis. Lakshmi Pokharel Regmi, the cooperative's manager, stated that they provide a 50 percent subsidy to farmers for agricultural materials, seeds, and grass plants. Additionally, in collaboration with the Prime Minister's Agricultural Digitization Project, they offered a 50 percent subsidy to 10 farmers through the 'Buffalor Subsidy Program' in the previous fiscal year. The cooperative also granted assistance to 28 farmers under the 'Storage Improvement Program'.
Established in 2075 BS, the cooperative boasts 2,850 shareholders. In the current fiscal year, they have decided to implement a Livestock Protection Program, offering free animal insurance. Regmi emphasized that the cooperative is dedicated to enabling farmers to attain self-sufficiency and self-employment through their planned initiatives.
