Asian Paints Nepal announces winners for Architecture and Interior Design Students Competition 2022-23

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 28: Kaleidoscope, an annual event organized by Asian Paints Nepal, has returned for its 2022-23 edition. Through this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative spanning over ten years, the company aims to provide the students of architects and interior design with an avenue to express their creativity and achieve a sense of accomplishment.

For the 2022-23 edition, the project theme for Architecture students was the "Pokhara Monumental Park" in Kaski, Pokhara, while Interior Design students worked on the concept of a "Boutique Hotel." This marks the 8th edition of this national-level competition, in which a total of 51 students from the 2074 and 2075 batches participated from 11 Architectural and 2 Interior Design colleges. The announcement of the Top 5 Winners from both Architecture and Interior Design categories took place yesterday ( August 27)  at Soaltee Hotel in the capital.

The event had State Minister for Education, Science & Technology,  Pramila Kumari as its Chief Guest. It saw participation from various associations, jurors, university representatives, college coordinators, teachers, students, past winners, and representatives from Asian Paints.

The winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes from Asian Paints.  Sandeep Tandukar from IOE, Thapathali Campus, secured first place among Architect Colleges, and Neelima Pradhan from Kantipur International College emerged as the winner among Interior Design colleges. They were both awarded a cash prize of Rs 70,000.

The first runners-up were Anmol Bhandari from Acme Engineering College for Architect Colleges and Cathy Munankarmi from IEC College of Art and Fashion for Interior Design colleges. They received a cash prize of Rs 40,000.

The second runners-up were Mr. Yunish Bhatta Chhetri from IOE, Thapathali Campus, and  Shrija Acharya from Kantipur International College, who were each awarded a cash prize of Rs 30,000.

Additionally, four consolation prizes were given to  Manashi Shrestha from the School of Engineering, Kathmandu University; Ruchi Khakurel from IOE, Thapathali Campus;. Namrata Panta from IEC College of Art and Fashion; and  Ruchita Maharjan from IEC College of Art and Fashion. They each received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 from Asian Paints.

The winners were selected by a panel of jurors consisting of eminent figures from the architectural and interior design fields, including architects and interior designers. The panel included Arun Dev Panta,  Amul Manandhar, Uma Sangachhe Shrestha,  Alex Shrestha,  Yekraj Adhikari, ID. Sapana Sapkota, ID. Tejita Vaidhya Amatya, and ID. Bivaa Joshi.
