Ballot papers for PR transported in 60 districts so far
KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 23 : Ballot papers for the Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system under the upcoming parliamentary elections have been transported to 60 districts so far, according to the Election Commission of Nepal. The House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections are slated for November 20 this year. The Commission said that ballot papers would be transported to additional six districts before the Tihar festival holidays.
Ballot papers would be ferried in the remaining districts, including Manang, Mustang, Achham, Bajura, Kalikot, Mugu, Humla, and Dolpa after Tihar only. Meanwhile, the Commission's Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel shared that a total of 15,124,000 ballot papers were printed so far for the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) electoral system.
Among them, 7,525,000 were for the Provincial Assembly election and 7,599,000 were for the HoR election. Ballot paper for the PR system has a white background and the election symbol and other details are printed in black ink. ---
