Voter turover stands at 60 percent

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 20 : The voter turnout in the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the provincial assembly stands at  60 percent as per the preliminary report of the Election Commission (EC). The details of the voting that was conducted today from 7 am to  5 pm are coming out.

The polls were conducted largely in a peaceful and enthusiastic manner across the country, barring aside a few violent incidents, according to the EC. In the Madhesh Province,  the voting took place in all the designated polling centers without any negative incidents. However, the process of casting ballots was obstructed in some hilly districts such as Bajura, Surkhet, Taplejung, Nawalparasi (Susta Purba), Gulmi and Dolakha after disputes between the participating political parties, the EC stated. ---
