ICAO will soon remove Nepal from its backlist, Minister Shrestha hopes
KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 8: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, claimed that the Nepali sky is safe for air flights operation. At a programme organized in the capital on Wednesday on the occasion of International Civil Aviation Day, Minister Shrestha asserted so.
According to him, the level of the country's aviation safety has improved significantly because of the right policy and program of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). Minister Shrestha expressed his confidence that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) would soon remove Nepal from its blacklist acknowledging such improvement.
Meanwhile, he admitted that the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) leadership has not been able to develop its institutional capacity. "Nepali people are being deprived of better aviation services owing to the incompetent leadership of the NAC."
