NAC begins groundwork for int'l flights from Bhairahawa airport
KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 11 : The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has started the groundwork for international flights from the Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport. Such international flights pertain to Malaysia and Qatar. NAC Spokesperson, Archana Khadka, shared that the very flights will be conducted overflying through other countries including India, Burma, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
According to her, the national flag carrier will fly to both Malaysia and Qatar from Kathmandu first and then land in Kathmandu via Bhairahawa while returning. Chair of the NAC, Yubaraj Adhikari, shared that the organization has devised a plan to conduct one flight to Malaysia and two to Qatar in a week.
He further shared that the number of flights can be increased on demand in the coming days. NAC would make a touch flight at the Bhairahawa-based airport on December 19 and begin commercial flights to the two destinations. Currently, Kuwait's Jazeera Airways and Nepal's Himalaya Airlines have started commercial flights from the Bhairahawa-based international airport.
