Government's plan to incorporate Nepali migrant workers in socia security scheme

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 22: The Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association (NRNA) has lauded the government’s plan to also incorporate Nepali migrant workers under the social security scheme. Issuing a press release yesterday, the Vice-chair of the NRNA and chief of its foreign employment department, DP Chhetri, did so.  According to the NRNA, the very plan could well facilitate millions of Nepali labourers, especially in India and Middle-East."

 “We were demanding for expanding the scope of the social security scheme in favour of such workers and several rounds of discussions were held with the government in this regard. Finally, the demand has been met," the release said.

The NRNA also vowed to work in coordination and collaboration with the government in the future to promote the rights of Nepali migrant workers. .
