FCAN asks for 20 percent mobilisation advance

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 26: Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN) has urged the government to help re-energize the anemic construction industry. The very appeal was made by the delegation of the FCAN led by its president Rai Singh yesterday during its meeting with Deputy Prime Miniter-cum-Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Rajendra Lingden, in the capital. 

"Anomalies like the continuous spike in the inflation rate are having debilitating impacts on the industry. So, realizing this, the concerned authorities shall provide 20 percent of the contract amount as a mobilisation advance to the contractors as per the Public Procurement Act," President Singh demanded adding,"

in his response, DPM Lingden said that the government will take steps to address the concerns of the FCAN.
