Fuel surcharge goes down by 5.9 perecent
KATHMANDU, APRIL 5: Following a drop in the price of per liter of aviation fuel by Rs 10 to Rs 160, the Aviation Operators' Association of Nepal has slashed the fuel surcharge.
The extra charge added to the cost of an air ticket was reduced yesterday by 5.9 percent. With this, the airfare of the Kathmandu-Dhangadhi route, the longest domestic route, saw the highest drop of Rs 440, while the same of the Kathmadu-Simra route, the country's shortest route, witnessed the lowest decline of Rs 90.
Similarly, the cost of a mountain flight per person (operated from Kathmandu) was reduced from Rs 345 to Rs 5,490.

With the revision in the airfare, Rs 440 has been reduced in the airfare from Kathmandu to Dhangadi. It now costs Rs 7,070 for the airfare. Earlier it was Rs 7,510. Similarly, the new airfare for mountain flight is Rs 5,490. A total of Rs 345 has been reduced in the airfare for the flight that is operated from Kathmandu. Likewise, airfare for Kathmandu- Bhadrapur has been reduced by Rs 300, Kathmandu-Biratnagar by Rs 240, Kathmandu to Janakpur by Rs 130, Kathmandu to Pokhara by Rs 155, Kathmandu to Bharatpur by Rs 110, Kathmandu to Bhairahawa by Rs 205, Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Rs 185 and Kathmandu to Surkhet by Rs 345.
