Over 270 business firms closed in Dang
DANG, MARCH 6 : A total of two hundred and seventy-three business firms have closed down in Dang over the last eight months of the current fiscal year 2022/23. Chief of the Cottage and Small Industries Office Lal Bahadur Gurung said among them, 143 belong to the trade and commerce sector and the remaining 130 are related to the industry sector.
According to Gurung, most of the proprietors of these industries and firms cited financial loss for shuttering their businesses. Similarly, some of them pinpointed the difficulty in running the companies because of the migration of family members abroad, according to him.
Tanka Singh Budhathoki, President of the Dang District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says," Many enterprises in the district could not fulfill their financial liabilities related to property rent, bank loans, etc. This, eventually, led to their closure."
Budhathoki fears that more and more industries and businesses might close down in the coming days if the government did not intervene in time to address the problems in the sector.
