Special provision for registering Nepal-made vehicles
KATHMANDU, APRIL 28 : The government has come up with a special provision for registering vehicles manufactured here in the country By amending the Transport Management Workprocudure Directive, 2060 B.S, the Transport Management Department did do recently.
The new number clause "11.1.9" is added in the direction that states" Irrespective of every other provision ( of the directive), there will be no need of an advise note for new registration, transfer registration, auction registration, re-registration, etc related to those vehicles assembled or manufactured in Nepal itself."
Such vehicles just have to present the bills pertaining to value-added tax (VAT) and excise duty to illegally ply on the country's roads.
The latest move on the part of the department has paved the path for registration of the Yatri brand of electric motorbike manufactured in Nepal for the first time.
