SEBON unveils its Policy and Program for current foscal

KATHMANDU, JULY 31: The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has made its Policy and Program for the current fiscal year public. The board is looking to operate the commodity market  and ensure legal and institutional infrastructure to facilitate Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) investing in the capital market.

According to SEBON, it will adopt a special strategy to leverage tools like private equity, venture capital, etc, to financially promote startups this year.

Reducing the commissions being taken by the brokerage companies and making necessary arrangements for automatic settlement of the tax that is levied on the bonus shares through cash dividends are other moves to be taken by the regulator of the country's stock exchange market.

Other annual programs of the board include establishing its own data center for effective information dissemination and management of various systems and conducting a study on ‘Enterprise Resource Planning’ for a prompt and technology-friendly environment for investors.
