"No labour permit is being issued to any Nepali as a seasonal worker"
KATHMANDU, JULY 31: The Ministry for Labour, Employment and Social Security has clarified that no labour permit is being issued to any Nepali as a seasonal worker in foreign countries, including South Korea.
Information is being circulated that seasonal workers are being sent to South Korea from Nepal. This is totally baseless, the ministry states. "If any person or party asks for money in the name of sending to foreign countries, including South Korea, as seasonal workers. It is totally illegal. We appeal to the aspiring workers to be aware of such an illicit activity."
According to the ministry, it will also take strict action against educational consultancies and travel agencies in case they are found to be engaged in fraudulent activities under the pretext of foreign employment.
