Nepal welcomes more than 500 thusand foreign tourists
KATHMANDU, AUGUST 2: In the first seven months of 2023, a total of 5,34,000 foreign tourists visited Nepal.
Of them, 2,21,982 belong to the SAARC region, 81,774 to other Asian countries, 92,179 to Europe, 20,489 to the ASIAN region, 63,020 to the US, 50024 to the Middle East, 49,239 to other nations.
In the last month of July alone, 57,726 such tourists came to the country.
Similarly, 55,074 visited in January, 73,255 in February, 99,426 in March, 98, 793 in April, 77701 in May, and 72,250 in June.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the country's tourism industry is gradually recovering after suffering severely from the COVID-19 pandemic. The board to attract a least 1 million tourists in the country.
