"Traders have started to sell rice in black market"

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 3: Members of the parliament have raised serious concerns over natural  price hike in rice under the pretext of its import ban by India,

Stating that the traders have started to sell rice in the black market, they asked the government to strictly monitor this. While speaking at the Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Interest Committee in the parliament yesterday, lawmaker Rama Koirala said," The price of per sack rice has been unnaturally increased by Rs 200/300. The government must keep tabs on such a fraudulent act and control it."

another lawmaker Ashim Shah said that the lack of effective monitoring is prompting unethical traders to dupe the general consumers. "If  the government takes action against the unethical traders, it will help in protect the consumer rights."
