Shop raided and sealed for selling fertilizers in black market

BHAKTAPUR, AUGUST 8: The District Administration Office (DAO) in Bhaktapur has taken action against shops involved in  selling chemical fertilizers in the black market. In a recent raid, a shop selling fertilizers to farmers at an exorbitant price was caught. The shop, owned by Nhuchhebhakta Katubhaju in Kamal Binayak of Bhaktapur Municipality-10, was found selling illegally imported fertilizers from India at Rs 2,100 per sack.

The raid was conducted by a team led by Assistant Chief District Officer Dolendra Niraula, acting on the grievances of consumers who reported the sale of subsidized fertilizers in the black market. The team seized 129 sacks of fertilizers being sold at high prices and subsequently sealed the shop. Further investigation will be conducted in this matter.

The shop's proprietor, Katubhaju, failed to produce the purchase bill for the fertilizers. Instead, he provided buyers with a bill that mentioned "Agro World Lalitpur." CDO Rijal stated that the proprietor would be held accountable for his actions.

In response to such activities, the DAO in Bhaktapur is planning surprise monitoring of markets where fertilizers are being sold. They have also urged consumers to report any instances of black marketing of fertilizers to the office.
