World Tourism Day being marked today

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 27: The 44th World Tourism Day is being celebrated in Nepal with various programs organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board, Department of Tourism, and leading organizations in the tourism sector. The theme for this year's World Tourism Day is 'Tourism and Green Investment'.

To mark the occasion, the 44th World Tourism Day Main Function Committee, led by Minister for Tourism Sudan Kiranti, has been formed. The Tourism Minister welcomed foreign tourists arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport on the first flight of the day at 6:00 a.m. There was also a morning rally from Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur, to Mangal Bazaar at 7:30 a.m., followed by a formal program in the Patan Durbar area.

During the event, organizations that contribute significantly to foreign currency earnings and individuals and institutions making notable contributions to the tourism sector were honored. World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27th each year, and this year's theme focuses on promoting accessible tourism for all.
