Missing plane found crashed; 14 bodies recovered so far
KATHMANDU, May 30: The missing twin otter of Tara Air has been found crashed this morning at Sanosware, Thasang-2, Mustang, according to media reports. 14 bodies have been pulled out from the pieces of wreckage and the remains of others are being scoured.
The crash site was located with the help of the information given by local shepherds who had reached the area to collect Yarshagumba (i.e. caterpillar fungus).The ill-fated plane with 22 people onboard, including three members of the crew, had collided with Manapathi Mountain.
On Sunday morning, it took off at 9:55 am from Pokhara and went out of contact with air control about 12 minutes later at 10:07 am. NA on Sunday evening could not continue its search and rescue due to adverse weather. The search resumed early this morning both from air and ground.
