"Private sector should play important rile in import substitution"
MORANG, JUNE 6: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu has said the private sector should play an important role in the economic area of import substitution in the country. He said so while inaugurating the 49th annual general meeting of the Morang Industry Association here on Saturday (June 4).
Minister Badu stressed the need for the private sector to increase industrial and agricultural production so as to mitigate the country's foreign dependence even on foods and other essentials.
Stating that the incumbent government is ready to make reforms in the monetary policy for helping the private sector, he said the subsidies have been provided by the current budget for the land, energy and export industries as per the suggestions of the related entrepreneurs.
He also stated that the proposed container train transportation will be operated after acquiring the required lands at Katahari in Morang.
