KMC brings call centre into operation
KATHMANDU, JUNE 7: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started a toll-free call centre to help address the concern of the residents of the capital city. An arrangement has been made where anyone can make a call on telephone no 16600105511 free of cost if he/she has any complaints or queries with the KMC and its services.
The first executive meeting of people's representatives of KMC after their election held on May 30 had decided to operate a call centre within seven days. The call centre was brought into operation at the City Hall from today as per the decision. Chief of Information Technology Department of the Call Centre, Nam Raj Dhakal, said the centre has the capacity to receive 15 telephone calls at a time.
Inaugurating the Call Centre, KMC Mayor Balendra Sah said that a system was developed to hear complaints of citizens in order to establish the metropolis as a responsible local-level government. The operators at the Call Centre fill in the basic details including telephone, time, complaints and queries in the software while talking with service seekers. The operators also fill in the details of officers related to complaints and queries. The system automatically sends SMS and email to the authorized persons. Dhakal shared that the system will now be operational only during office hours.
