Govt revokes its decision of two public holidays a week
KATHMANDU, JUNE 7: The government has revoked its earlier decision of granting two public holidays in a week because of its impracticality in the areas like education and health. At a press conference organized here today to disclose decisions of the cabinet meeting held yesterday, Home Minister, Balkrishna Khand, shared the information to this effect. The cabinet last May 11 had decided to grant public holidays on Saturday and Sunday in a week that was in effect on probation since May 15.
He also said that the government has decided to form a team to receive a concessional loan of 100 million US dollars from the World Bank for green, productive, and inclusive development. He also shared that the government has decided to appoint Sharad Bikram Rana as the Executive Director of the Trade and Export Promotion Centre.
The cabinet has decided to approve the bill framed to amend the Social Security Act, 2075 BS to table at the federal parliament. Likewise, the government decided to send the bill on the regulation of Acid and other Harmful Chemicals to the parliament. Similarly, the cabinet has decided to send the bill prepared to amend Health Worker and Health Institution Safety Act, 2066 to the parliament.
