Cyber security bill on anvil

KATHMANDU, JUNE 14  : Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, has said ‘Bill on Cyber Security" will be finalised soon. At a discussion programme on a draft of the cyber security bill organised by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority in the capital on Monday (June 13), Minister Karki said the bill would be prepared based on expert consultations and recommendations. Alluding to the innovative breakthroughs in the global ICT sector, the Minister underscored the need for enabling the country to align with such brealthroyghts.

Minister Karki also said the country now should be oriented to the rapidly growing technological advancement and take advantage of the transformation in the communications and information technology sector. Likewise, Minister Karki argued that combative measures were needed against the ill practices taken in this field adding that discussions on cyber security were of utmost need.
