Pakistani Embassy, Pakistan Study Center together hold talk program

KATHMANDU, JUNE 30: On the eve of the 75th Year of Independence celebrations, the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Study Center organized a talk program on “Socio-Economic Implications of COVID-19 Pandemic in South Asia; Emerging Risks and Strategies for Future” at Hotel Ambassador in the capital on Wednesday (June 29).

 

The event was attended by people from different strata of society including educationists, politicians, intellectuals, social activists, journalists, writers as well as analysts. The aim of the event was to discuss the impacts of COVID-19 on the social & economic life of the peoples of South Asia and measures to minimize such impacts.

 

During the event, panelists highlighted the grave impact of COVID-19 in the South Asian region and suggested regional/ global cooperation to mitigate its effects on social, economic, and cultural life of the common people. They lauded the efforts of the Pakistan government in tackling the pandemic inefficient way.  

 

Addressing the event, Pakistani ambassador to Nepal, Syed Haider Shah, welcomed the distinguished guests, panelists and highlighted that pandemic is not an issue of a single country but a global challenge that requires regional & global efforts to make this world a safer place for our next generations.
