Gold price comes down
KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 27 : The price of gold that surged to reach almost as high as 1 lakh per tola has decreased. The yellow metal had been traded at Rs 99,000 per tola on Thursday (Feb 24) and its price declined by Rs 1,000 on Friday (Feb 25). Today, the gold price has further come down by Rs 1,400 to reach Rs 96,600.
According to the Federarion of Nepal Gold Silver Dealers' Association, Nepal is seeing a downturn in the price of gold as a result of its declining value in the international bullion market.
Because of the fear of the possible flare-up in the row between Russia and the US regarding the issue of Ukrain had made the gold dearer previously. But now its price is coming down in the international market with speculations doing rounds that the US may not militarily strike Russia.
Similarly, the price of silver has also plummeted by Rs 40 to Rs 1295 per tola on Sunday, On Friday, it was traded at Rs 1,335 per tola.
