Himalayan Hydro Expo, 2022 to be held from April 1 to 3
KATHMANDU, MARCH 3 : The beginning of the next month is going to witness the organization of the third edition of Himalayan Hydro Expo.
To be jointly held by the Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN) and Expo and Event Management Service, the expo of this year will take place from April 1 to 3 at Bhrikuti Mandap in the capital.
Similarly, the upcoming fair is being coordinated by the Indian Embassy and supported by the UK Embassy and the Canadian High Commission, according to a press release issued by the IPPAN today.
“One of the prime objectives of Himalayan Hydro Expo, 2022 is to assist the government in materializing the plan of generating 15,000 MW of power in the next 10 years.” Similarly, it aims not only to disseminate the information about the latest technological developments in the international energy sector but also to facilitate/promote interactions/discussions amongst the participating countries on the mutual development of the hydro sector.
The three-day expo will display more than 100 stalls belonging to the hydropower developers/promoters, equipment suppliers, and turbine producers along with banks and insurance companies. Of the total number of installs, around 50 percent will be foreign.
During the expo, the visitors will have a chance to visit the sites of hydropower projects via helicopter in a virtual way. Similarly, it is going to feature the rally of electric vehicles and robotic competition (among the robots used in hydropower projects for purposes like tunnel checking, inspection, etc), among other attractions.
The organisers expect that the fair will see 50,000 footfall.
