Maximum limit for internal remittance now reduced to Rs 25,000
KATHMANDU, MARCH 3 : The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to curtail the ceiling on domestic remittances. Issuing a circular on Wednesday, the central bank made such a decision.
According to the circular, the licensed agents and sub-agents of remittance companies are now not allowed to make internal remittance-related transaction worth more than Rs 25,000 per day. Prior to this, the maximum limit set for such transaction was Rs 1,00,000.
Nevertheless, the ceiling set for the remittances sent by Nepalis living abroad to their family members/ other beneficiaries in Nepal has not seen any change.
