Petroleum dealers stop transportation of fuel
KATHMANDU, MARCH 4 : Petroleum dealers have stopped the transportation of fuel across the country. They did so citing the non-increment in the commissions received from the sale of petroleum products. "Though the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) hiked the price of fuel from Thursday evening, there has been no any simultaneous rise in the commissions being paid to us. That is why, we decided to stay away from loading and distributing petroleum products, says the Nepal Petroleum Dealers' National Association (NPDNA).
Before the latest upward revision of fuel price, the dealers were receiving the commission of 3.14 percent per litre. And now they want such a commission to be increased by 1.15 percent.
The Thankot-based depo of the NOC confides that the private petrol pumps across the country have not collected such products from their tankers. According to it, only the pumps belonging to the army, armed police, police and Sajha are loading fuel from the depo.
The depo today has not seen the sale of even single litre of petrol, diesel and kerosene. Previously, it used to distributed 900 thousand litre of petrol and 700 thousand litre of diesel on a daily basis.
