Michelin once again the world’s most valuable tyre brand

KATHMANDU, MARCH 6 : Michelin, a French manufacturer of tyres, has recently bagged away the title of “The World’s Most Valuable Tyre Brand” for the fourth year in a row.   This was possible with this French brand claiming the very title in 2021 too. Last year, its market value increased to US $ 7,736 million from US $  6,848 million recorded in 2020.

In the latest list of the world’s ten most valuable tyre brands released by Brand Finance, Michelin was followed by Bridgestone in the second position. For the last five years, the latter has been occupying this position.

Last year, Michelin also occupied the No. 1 position in the ranking of the world’s ten largest selling tyre brand as its total transaction amounted to US$ 25.9 billion.

In the very ranking, Michelin was again followed by Bridgestone as the world’s second largest selling tyre brand.

Despite the international economic downturn triggered by the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, Michelin was able to become the world’ numero uno tyre brand in terms of sales amount.  So, the brand is strongly expected to maintain this leadership in the upcoming years too.        

Manufactured by leveraging advanced technology, Michelin known as a premium and high-quality brand in the international tyre market. It, which is fitted in most of the premium vehicles, has also earned the distinction of being the most fuel-efficient tyre.

With 8 R & D units across the world, it boasts 117 production units in 26 nations. Similarly, the brand has physical presence in more than 170 countries including Nepal.

In the Nepali market, it is being exclusively imported and distributed by Sipradi Auto Parts, a subsidiary of the country’s biggest automobile company namely Sipradi Group of Companies. Available in various designs for two-wheelers, passenger/commercial four-wheelers and even airplanes, Michelin has also won the trust of a large chunk of the Nepali customers, cliams the comany.
