Remittance inflow down by 5 percent

KATHMANDU, MARCH 11 : In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, the inflow of remmittance has gone down by 4.9 percent to Rs 540.12 billion.  During the same period last year, such inflow had increased by 10.9 percent, according to the Nepal Rastra Bank. 

Similarly, during the review prerid, the country's balance of payments (BoP) deficit  stood at Rs 247.2  billion. During the same period last year, the BoP had been in a surplus 97.36 billion.

The current account deficit of the country in the first seven months of FY 2021/22 widened to Rs 413.86 billion. During the same period last year, such deficit  had stood at Rs 104.39 billion.
