NEPSE index goes up by 10 points

NEPSE index goes up by 10 points

KATHMANDU, MAY 9: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 10 points to close at 1844 points today. The total turnover stood at Rs 774.70 million which, nevertheless, is less than Rs 50 million compared to yesterday. 

 In the trading of Tuesday, the stock prices of 161 companies went up while the same of 50 companies plummeted. Similarly, 8 companies saw the monetary value of their shares remaining stable. 

The sub-indices of commercial banks, development banks, finance companies, hotels, and hydropower grew by 3 points, 28 points, 7 points, 65 points and  24 points respectively. Similarly, microfinance, life insurance, non-life insurance, manufacturing, trading, and "others" groups also saw their sub-indices increasing by 75 points, 10 points, 58 points, 2 points, and 3 points respectively.

The total market capitalization in the stock market amounts to Rs 2.689 trillion.
