Govt to work towards amending Public Procurement Act
KATHMANDU, MARCH 3 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government will initiate the necessary dialogue with the construction entrepreneurs in order to amend the current Public Procurement Act. He made such a statement during his meeting with the delegation of the Federation of Construction Association of Nepal (FCAN) held today in the capital.
At the meeting, Rabi Singh, president of the FCAN, apprised the PM of the problems/challenges being faced by the construction industry in the country. “One such problem is a tendency to announce construction projects without first allocating the needed budget. Because of this, we have not been paid a great amount of money related to such projects, he bemoaned adding,”As such, we appeal to the PM to take initiation to resolve this problem without much ado. “
