NAC to fly to New Delhi and Kuala Lumpur from Bhairawaha
KATHMANDU, APRIL 16: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is preparing to operate direct flights from the Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport to New Delhi in India and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from the end of the coming May. Spokesperson of the NAC, Ramesh Poudel shared that the necessary process has been initiated in this regard.
As part of the process, the arrangement of physical and non-physical resources and other marketing-related tasks are said to be carried out. Similarly, applications have been submitted for the needed flight permits,
There will be at least one flight in a week to both international destinations, informed Spokesperson Poudel, adding that the increase in the number of flights could be considered in line with the market demand in the upcoming days. The national flag carrier has already been conducting flights to both New Delhi and Kuala Lumpur from Kathmandu.
It is confident that the proposed direct flights from Bhairahawa to these destinations would especially help attract more Buddhist tourists to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
