Upper Sanjen hydropower begins its production
RASUWA AUGUST 9: The Simbu Hydropower Centre, built by the Sanjen Hydropower Company, has recently commenced electricity generation. This hydropower project, known as Upper Sanjen, has a capacity of 14.8 MW,. The generated energy from this project is aksi successfully integrated into the national transmission grid.
Sunil Kumar Dhungel, the managing director of Sanjen Hydropower Company, revealed that the construction of the Upper Sanjen Hydropower Project, which commenced in 2013, has now transitioned into the production phase. The energy produced is being channeled to the central storage facility via the national transmission line of the Chilime Hydropower.
Dhungel further provided details that the project is anticipated to generate an annual energy output of 88.5 million units, resulting in a total revenue of Rs 400 million per year. The power house is situated at an altitude of 2,180 meters above sea level.
