Glocal holds "Skill Week", "CEO Unplugged"

KATHMANDU, MARCH 29 :  “Skill Week, 2022” has concluded on Sunday (March 27) at the Soaltee Kathmandu on Sunday. Participated in by renowned entrepreneurs, government diplomats, and 100+ aspirant enthusiasts, the third edition of Skill Week was organized by Glocal After School, an entity of Glocal Pvt Ltd.  The prime aim of the seven-day program was to promote extensive skilling opportunities and showcase emerging skills.

 

It saw the conduct of workshops, competitions and exhibitions related to diverse skills along with entertainment activities. The event highlighted four distinct skill areas : Tourism and Hospitality, Art and Culture, Entrepreneurship,  and Science and Technology. In line with this, four veterans were also honored with the award of Nabil Skill Hero by Glocal After School.

 

For the area of Tourism and Hospitality, Laxman Neupane, Chairman/MD of Siddhartha Group of Hospitality was honored as Nabil Skill Hero as he has been an influential figure in the field of tourism and made it possible for several young people to join the field of hospitality. Likewise, Kiran Manandhar was honored for his dedication regarding the sector of Art and Culture. He has been eminent in the contemporary art scene for the past five decades in Nepal.

 

 In the Entrepreneurship category, Laxmi Sharma, Entrepreneur and the Founder of Laxmi Wood Craft Udhyog was awarded for her contributions in the field of entrepreneurship and providing an ecosystem for women entrepreneurs to foster. When it comes to the area ofScience and Technology category, Sanduk Ruit, Founder and Visionary ophthalmologist at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology were honored for his efforts to restore the eyesight of over 180,000 people across Africa and Asia using small-incision cataract surgery. The Nabil Skill Hero - Sustainable Banking award was felicitated to Eakraj Suyal from Suyal Bakhra Firm.

 

 

Notably, Glocal Pvt. Ltd. also successfully concluded the seventh edition of ‘CEO Unplugged’ in 2022 on the same day. “With the main theme of ‘Today Meets Tomorrow’, 6  entrepreneurs, 2 moderators, bureaucrats, and diplomats of the country acted as the speakers of the program. More than 100 aspirants participated in it to network, learn, and share their notions.

 

The event saw the panel discussions on various aspects of skill and entrepreneurial ecosystems. "CEO Unplugged” was conducted in collaboration with Nabil Bank as Associate Partner. Similarly, Bagmati Province, Embassy of India, European Union, Dakchyata, British Council Nepal, Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training - CTEVT, ILO Nepal, and FNCCI – Startup and Innovation Committee acted as  Strategic Partners.

 Ace Institute of Management, Loop Networks, The Soaltee Hotel, Turkish Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Honda, Microsoft, Nepal Telecom.etc were other supporters of “CEO Unplugged”.
