Gasoline vehicles can now be converted into electric ones

KATHMANDU, MARCH 30 : Now, gasoline vehicles can be converted into electric ones. The government has issued a notice in the Nepal Gazzete in this regard.

The notice states," The engine or chasis of automobiles based on petroleum products can be changed for three years in line with the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 1993." 

Currently, the change of engine is not permitted without the required official permission. After the vehicles based on petroleum products are converted into the ones run by electricity, they can enjoy the tax exemption provided to electric vehicles.
