Owing to the strikes called by the association, long queues of customers could be seen around petrol pumps in the capital on Saturday and Sunday.

Notably, Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, also the Acting Prime Minister, has yesterday directed the authorities concerned to immediately fix the problems surfaced recently in the supplies of petroleum products.

The Home Minister even warned that the government would be compelled to take tough measures despite its unwillingness if problems continued on the supplies of most essential goods.
