Nepal Toastmasters to host Annual Conference CITATION, 2022
KATHMANDU, APRIL 5 : Toastmasters in Nepal is hosting the fourth annual conference on April 9, 2022 (Saturday) at Aloft Kathmandu, Thamel in the capital Around 450 members from corporations, professional organizations and other communities are expected to attend the conference from all over Nepal.
The key highlight will be the showcase of the Humorous Speech Contest where representatives from three Division from Nepal will present how Humorous Speeches are given.
Every year, a non-Toastmaster is honored for his/her communication and leadership contributions. ‘The Communicator Award’ will be announced during the event.Ms.KrishnaTamrakar a renowned Radio personality from Radio Nepal was bestowed with the award in the last physical Citation in 2019.
The event will also be peppered with lighter sessions where Toastmasters will showcase their music and cultural talents.
Starting in 1991 with the inception of the Kathmandu Toastmasters Club, there were only eight clubs including the first corporate club, Laxmi Bank Toastmasters Club, until 2017. Thereafter, being part of District 41, there has been a proliferation of clubs in the last couple of years. Currently, there are 52 clubs and over 1,300 members from banks, academic institutions, tourism entrepreneurs, Chartered Accountants, educators, women, entrepreneurs, and other professionals.
District Director of District 41, Ranjit Acharya, DTM said, "Nepal is leading District 41 Toastmasters for the first time and Citation 2022 will be looked up on by members from across the district in North and East India, and Bangladesh. This will help to bring the Nepalese Toastmasters closer as one, empowering each other."
Club Growth Director of District 41, Suman Shakya, DTM is proud showcase the growth of members and clubs in Nepal and District 41. “Citation 2022 will be an opportunity for the members of Toastmasters not only in Kathmandu but in Pokhara, Chitwan, Birgunj, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Dharan and Jhapa to come together in the largest gathering of Toastmasters in Nepal to learn, networkand help each other become a better version of themselves.”
