Govt decides to grant two public holidays a week

KATHMANDU, APRIL 27 : There will be two public holidays-Saturday and Sunday- every week beginning from the upcoming May 15. Similarly, from this date, the office hours will be maintained from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM in other 5 working days  instead of the current 10am-5pm.

 The very information was shared  by Government Spokesperson and Communications and Information Technology Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki at a program held today in the capital. According to him, the said two new provisions announced by the government will be implemented for sometime on a trial basis

. Earlier, the finance ministry submitted a proposal to the Council of Ministers, urging for  a public holiday on Sunday as well. The prime aim behind this is to help reduce the growing strain on the national coffers due to fuel consumption .
