MoU signed for producing green hydrogen
KATHMANDU, MAY 25: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Global Green Growth Institute, Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for manufacturing chemical fertilizer in the country. In the presence of Minister for Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal, NEA Executive Director Kulman Ghising and Institute's Director-General Frank Rijsbeman signed the MoU amidst a programme held in the capital. yesterday.
With this, the two institutions would carry out a feasibility study on the production of hydrogen and ammonia through green energy and the establishment of factory for the production of urea fertilizers.
On the occasion, Minister Bhusal said manufacturing of hydrogen would be a new area and technology to consume the energy produced from the country's hydropower projects for domestic purposes. She also urged both the institutions to honestly implement the provisions in the MoU. ---
